![]() (With what I assume -ready to use monsters, maps, locations?) Now I realize you can buy them on either roll20 or D&D Beyond and run them there straight away. I have not yet purchased it but until today I thought that I have to get the book and then try to reenact the scenarios and places in roll20. This campaign however will be based on an official Adventure (book?). So far all of my games have been on Roll20 where the DM just googled for relevant images of maps, monsters, items or anything needed really was either hand-drawn or found from a quick google search. My only other DM experience was to run a one-shot of my creation. I myself have played a few homebrewed adventures. With a party of 2 veterans and 2 complete newbies. I am about to start my first campaign as a DM. , while D&D Beyond is like a library with a lot of enhanced features - making the process of finding and using material/content in your games (VTT or live) much much easier. Roll20 is a VTT (Virtual Table Top) where you can run games, draw on the map for the players etc. All monsters, all the time!Īnswered: Roll20 and D&D Beyond are two different things.
